Cymap has been in use in New Zealand for the last 18 years. Some of NZ’s largest consulting engineers and companies have been using Cymap for local projects – BECA, NDY, Babbage, NZ Steel, GRS Consulting, to name a few. It has been used to design a wide range of projects from simple Building Services through to Industrial Automation (Fonterra projects).
Stuart Morgan (MIET/I.Eng Consulting Electrical Engineer) has been involved with Cymap since the 1990s, and provides local support and training here in New Zealand.
The user base continues to grow, and the software is moving towards BIM/3D, with interfaces to TAS, and support for direct import of gbXML 3D models from Revit, or any other 3D CAD system that supports gbXML. There are add-ons for Revit that allow systems designed in Cymap to be converted into a 3D services model within Revit.
